Bee Happy Wedding Wishes

Bee Happy Wedding Wishes - Front
Made this card for my Indian ex-colleague whose wedding dinner reception is on this Sunday. I am so happy that she finally tying the knot with someone she loves!

MFT Wednesday Stamp Club Challenge #95 (MFTWSC95)
This card layout is inspirational from MFT Wednesday Stamp Club Challenge #95 (MFTWSC95) sketch/challenge as shown above. I decided to turn the sketch 180 degree so that I could use the sun as the embellishment as shown in the sketch.

Close-up : The scene
I started off with a white card stock whereby I stamp the bees, flowers and clouds to make a scene. As it is white in background, I need to mask all the images to distress the white background to the sky color. Later, all the images are colored using Copic markers.

Close-up : Sentiment
A red strip is trimmed from some red card stock. The left and right edges are stamped with a border that similar to stitching. On gold card base, a pattern paper that full of hearts is attached follow by the red strip. The colored scene is attached onto the red strip and pattern paper as shown in the sketch. After the scene is attached, the sentiment is stamped. The sentiment is not stamped earlier (before the scene attaching) is due to that I want the sentiment to be aligned to the scene position. Then, a stamped cut out butterfly is placed on the sentiment.

Close-up : The pop-up sun
The sun is stamped on a yellow card stock and trimmed. It is then attached using pop dot to the left top corner of the scene as in sketch.

Close-up : Gems for the flowers' pollen
The pollen of the flowers are added with gems to give some dimension and sparkle. The small flowers' pollen are added with one (1) big gem while the big flower's pollen is made up by few smaller gems.

Close-up : The male bee
Some gems are added to bees' antennas as well. Two (2) heart shaped gems are added to the above of the bees to mimic they are in love. Some glossy accent are added to the wings of the bees to make it sparkle.
Close-up : The female bee

Office Pen N Paper offers 50 prizes and the top collectors win. I did not expect to win as my packaging collection is merely 10+ whereas the first place winner have about 90 packaging. They announce the top 5 winners first through their Facebook page. After seeing the number of the top 5 winners collection, I lost hope. Somehow, when they announce the next 45 winners, I am glad that I won (my name is spelled a bit wrong) but once I verify with them, it is indeed that I won! My packaging collection is merely on PLUS Norino 6mm Glue Roller refill as I use this product on my card making.

I always wanted to try the PLUS Decoration Tape Deco Rush. Guess that my wishlist fulfilled as Office Pen N Paper included six (6) different design of Deco Rush inside the prize!

Thanks again to Office Pen N Paper for the generosity!

I Was Featured in Lawn Fawn Fawny Flickr Friday

It was a surprise that Kelly Marie, owner of Lawn Fawn add my Flamingo Wedding Wishes card as favorite in flickr yesterday. With that, I suspect that my card is chosen for the Lawn Fawn Fawny Flickr Friday. However, as the post is not yet released, I cannot confirm but I am hopeful.

The card that featured in Lawn Fawn Fawny Flickr FridayFlamingo Wedding Wishes
Due to time zone difference, the next day, I re-check Lawn Fawn blog and voila! There is my Flamingo Wedding Wishes card lined up on the fifth! I am just so happy! It is not easy to get picked and featured in Lawn Fawn Fawny Flickr Friday as there are many people submitting their cards for one whole week.

I made this wedding wishes card for my schoolmate who is getting married this Sunday. Not to mention that this is my first time attempt of applying Chari Moss' stamp on stamp mirror stamping!

Although this feature or pick do not won me anything, I am so happy and glad as it is not easy to get picked and featured in Lawn Fawn Fawny Flickr Friday! Thanks, Lawn Fawn and Kelly Marie!

Nesting Lace Ovals Dies

Lifestyle Crafts Nesting Lace Ovals Dies - Front Packaging
Finally, my Lifestyle Crafts nesting lace ovals dies has arrived! I purchase this Lifestyle Crafts nesting lace ovals from Oh My Crafts! when they are having 33% off on order USD$33 or less in early September 2012! This is a great offer and I cannot miss not to grab a thing with this promotion! I end up saving of USD$5.57 equals to RM17.82 with exchange rate RM3.20.

As my budget is limited, I can only to get one or two items. Thus, I search for the things that I want but most of them are out of stock. Thus, I keep on evaluating my purchase list. The great thing about this time promotion is that I get to buy something low value but also gets the 33% discount. Usually Oh My Crafts! set a value of USD$25 and above for the discount to take place but this time, it set the price USD$33 and below and no minimum! In the end, I only managed to get this Lifestyle Crafts nesting lace ovals. Although I prefer Spellbinders, to my disappointing, most of all of them are out of stocks. This 'out-of-stock' issue is very common in Oh My Crafts! which makes me re-considering to purchase from them in the future.

Another issue is the way they process the orders. I am not sure if because of the daily promotion and discount that caused the issue which makes the orders volume high. I usually get 'processing' status after my order confirmation like few days afterwards. This time around, I get my 'processing' status after five (5) days I placed and made my payment! That is only processing stage which I think they verify the order and my payment and perhaps other things they have in procedure.

Lifestyle Crafts Nesting Lace Ovals Dies - Actual dies
Well, it is extremely long and takes me a lot of patience to receive their shipping notification. After eleven (11) days from the 'processing' e-mail notification, I finally received the shipping notification! It takes Oh My Crafts! almost two (2) weeks to ship my one (1) particular item! I guess when you get cheaper stuffs, you get to pay your price as well which in my case, patient and waiting!

Anyhow, my Lifestyle Crafts nesting lace ovals dies is here now after almost one (1) month purchasing it. I hope I can make use of it soon as I sometimes become bore with square, rectangular, circle and scallop circles. Hopefully with this Lifestyle Crafts nesting lace ovals dies, it gives me some inspiration and more creative in my card making.

Flamingo Wedding Wishes

Flamingo Wedding Wishes
Is the time of the year again - wedding months! Made this wedding wishes card for a schoolmate who is getting married this weekend.

Edit to add:
This card is being featured in Lawn Fawn
Fawny Flickr Friday dated 05 October 2012!

Loves Rubberstamps Challenge 19 - Pinterest Photo Inspiration
My 'crafting bugs' came crawling back when I saw the Loves Rubberstamps Challenge 19 - Pinterest Photo Inspiration as shown above. Automatically, I think of wedding, mostly because of the white and laces that the little girl wearing.

Sunday Sketch and Stamp Challenge #126 - Sam's Sketch
I adopt a very simple sketch from Sunday Sketch and Stamp Challenge #126 - Sam's Sketch as shown above as Less is More - Week 87 Lucky Dip is on love and marriage theme which is just perfect!

Finally, I have a chance to try Chari Moss' stamp on stamp mirror stamping! I stamp the flamingo onto some pattern papers and trimmed accordingly. Another set is stamped onto a white circle. As it is wedding wishes card, I purposely stamp the flamingo beaks kissing each other. I distress the white circle edge with some red ink before adhering the trimmed flamingos.

Close-up : Embossed white card base with hearts design
For the second layer of the card base, I use a white card stock that has been embossed with hearts design. This is my first time try on dry embossing even though I had some embossing folders in my collection. I distress the edges with some red ink as well.

Close-up : pattern paper with 'double happiness' in Chinese character, '喜喜'
As for the strip, I used a pattern paper with 'double happiness' in Chinese character, '喜喜'. After adhering on to the white embossed card, The circle is attached onto the strip as shown in the sketch. A white lace with flowers design is overlapped the circle and pattern strip. The whole white embossed card is then adhering onto a red folded card base.

Close-up : Sentiment
The sentiment is stamped on a white card stock and trimmed fish tails on both end. It is later distress the edges with some red ink before adhering onto the pattern paper and trimmed accordingly. The sentiment is adhered to the position as in sketch with some dimensional foams.

Close-up : Details on the flamingos
I finish the card with some pink hearts pearls on the right upper corners as in the sketch. I also added some white hearts pearls in the middle of the flamingos to symbolize they are in love. Some diamonds are attached to the female flamingo neck on the right to look like wearing a necklace. I give the female flamingo some 'make-up' as well by hand-drawn few lashes to its closed eye. A hat is added to the male flamingo on the left.

Dimension : 21.5cm x 10cm or 8.5" x 4"
Type : Horizontal fold
Inlay : None
